Dusty Thorburn: "Carolan’s Concerto: a unique but attainable challenge" (Friday, Session 3, Mountain Dulcimer, Advanced)

$12.50

Most dulcimer players are familiar with the compositions of the blind Irish harper Turlough O’Carolan (1670-1738). This workshop will teach an arrangement of one of his more challenging pieces known sometimes as “Mrs. Powers” but more frequently as “Carolan’s Concerto.” The tune challenges us with much longer phrasing than most O’Carolan tunes, but we will not be deterred and will break the composition into manageable chunks before putting it all together. (Dad tuning). A recording of the workshop will be available for at least 6 weeks after the festival.
