There are many advantages to the diatonic fretboard, but it can be limited. Together we will learn the structure of the chromatic fretboard and practice basic chord shapes and patterns. Then we will play some familiar diatonic songs in a number of keys, to practice using all the chromatic frets. This is useful for playing with other musicians; for example, if a fiddle player wants to play an Irish jig in B flat major!
