The blues is not usually a form of music people associate with the mountain dulcimer, but we can indeed play the blues on the dulcimer fretboard, even without extra frets and out of a DAd tuning! This workshop will examine the structure of the 12-bar blues; the way vocals and instrumental filler complete each musical line; and a simple, 5-note scale that you can use to improvise over the basic blues chord progression. (DAd tuning). A recording of the workshop will be available for at least 6 weeks after the festival.
